When you break open the weapon to load the power core, it lights up with an eerie red glow when locked into place. Collectors will love this feature. We were surprised to learn that the Barbie Doll that Mattel produced as a part of the "Barbie and Ken" Star Trek Set in 1996 was intended to be like Yeoman Rand. (You'll find this set listed with our 1996 Playmates Star Trek figures) The hairstyle they used, however, was Celeste's! You can clearly see it if you watch the episode "The Apple". Celeste brought the Braided Ring and Ponytail style with her. It was NOT a Paramount creation. Knowing how these things happen my guess is that Mattel asked Paramount for pictures or episodes to work from and someone at the studio sent them what ever they could get their hands on. Compare your action figure to Celeste and Watch the episode "The Apple" and decide for yourself. Great companion and convesation piece for your Ken and Barbie Star Trek set . |
